The first-ever South African Tourism Essence Festival Durban (SATEFD) Media Junket was designed to create integrated media coverage with a focus on Durban, SA as a ‘unique’  travel destination using the 2016 Essence Festival as the backdrop for a cross-section of features with media platforms that include radio, television, print, online and social media.  Media invites included travel, beauty and culture outlets to promote Durban as South Africa’s best-kept secret!


Miles Ahead Entertainment (MAE) on behalf of South African Tourism and EFD facilitated a 7-day Junket from November 7th -14th in Durban, South Africa.  Agency coordinated and managed all junket activation; including hosted media, press agenda, tours and one on one interview opportunities  and produced a series of video vignettes to service to a cross section of media outlets around the world.   Provided detailed post junket recap with impressions of over 130.1 Million
